Ph.d. fellow Marlene Printz Jellesen, are together with cand.mag. Inger Barrett and colleagues from five Teacher Educations, publishing the book "Livsoplysning. Kristendomskundskab, idehistorie, medborgerskab og autoritet". It is a foundational textbook for the teacher education subject of the same name.
The book offers insights into the foundations of the primary and lower secondary school and provides a language for understanding its functions and current challenges. It is structured around the content areas of the subject Livsoplysning, which include:
- Christianity studies, religion, and culture
- History of ideas and ethics
- Democracy and citizenship
- Authority, judgment, and rhetoric
These content areas aim to prepare the students to enter the teaching profession with a reflective view on their own teacher identity and on questions concerning values, identity, power, and authority.
The book will be published on June 21 2025 and will be available for purchase at Forlaget Eksistensen.
